Sacred Heart Assembly No. 2599 of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus will be conducting their annual Flag Retirement Ceremony in the St. John Vianney parking lot located at 54045 Schoenherr Rd., Shelby Township.
As part of the ceremony, The Old Settlers VFW Post of Shelby Twp will be rendering a 21-gun salute and playing TAPS to honor retiring Old Glory. Hot dogs and beverages will be provided by Assembly 2599 to those in attendance.
If you have any worn/unusable US flags to be properly disposed, they may be placed in the red box in the St. Therese Gathering Space or taken to the ceremony. New US made nylon flags will be available for purchase at the ceremony. Please bring a lawn chair and add this ceremony to your Flag Day schedule.
