On Thursday, August 6, from 12 to 1 PM, cardiologist Dr. Edouard Daher, MD, from Eastlake Cardiovascular, P.C., will present a lecture* on cardiac conditions, signs and symptoms of cardiac disease, and treatment options. In preparation for that lecture, I thought I would focus on cardiac topics for the next couple of weeks.
Recently, I have also received questions from people who have experienced cardiac issues related to their heart rate, so I am including this graphic, which summarizes what heart rate is, factors that affect it, types of heart rates, and its importance.
Having issues with your heart rate can be scary, but you must be knowledgeable about it so that when, or if, your doctor talks to you about a cardiac issue, you understand what is being said. Being educated about your body is important, as it helps you know when to seek medical attention and make sound decisions about your care.
