The Easter Triduum

The Easter Triduum, also known as the Sacred or Paschal Triduum, is a three-day period in the Catholic Church calendar. It begins on the evening of Maundy Thursday and ends with evening prayer on Easter Sunday.

• Holy Thursday: The evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper
• Good Friday: The celebration of the Lord’s passion and Adoration of the Holy Cross
• Holy Saturday: The Easter Vigil in the evening
• Easter Sunday: Vespers (evening prayer) and the celebration of Mass

The Triduum is a time to celebrate Jesus’ passion, death, and resurrection. It marks the most significant events of Holy Week. Challenge yourself or a family member to attend one event during Holy Week this year that is new to you.
