Musings and Messages: July 14, 2024

In this early part of the summer season, we are reminded in Paul’s letter to the Ephesians that we were “destined for adoption, have redemption by his blood, and in him were also chosen.” In other words, our existence was not by happenstance. It was not random or by accident. Rather, our existence and our destiny was on purpose.

There is a reason for each of us to be here at this moment in time. Each of us has a created purpose. While we may not know exactly what that purpose is and it may take years to figure it out, God has a plan for each of us. Paul clear states that God has an intention for us. We are God’s sons and daughters. We are redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ. We have been chosen to do great things in the eyes of God. What those great things are we may never know, but each of us has a reason for being.

This week ask the Lord to use you as his instrument to do great things in the world and in someone’s life. But do not ask to know what those things may be; rather, seek to do the things that God wants you to do.
