Unleash Easter Joy!
Today is your resurrection day. You are invited to rise with the Lord from the tomb that you have created by your attitudes, opinions, and self-pity. Jesus calls you, like he called Lazarus, to “come forth” out of the tomb in order to embrace the new life given to us by God.
Arise from your negativity and criticisms of others. Arise from those beliefs that incite anger or bitterness in your heart. Arise from the self-doubt which holds you back from your hopes and dreams.
When Jesus burst from the tomb, his old life was gone. Traces remained such as the scars of the crucifixion, but his new life was oriented toward heaven. He knew he had about 50 days to put the finishing touches on his ministry in order to give his disciples the tools they needed to continue spreading the Gospel.
Let this Easter be at time for you to put aside your old life. Learn from it, but do not allow it to dominate or consume you. Re-orient your focus to becoming healthier, happier, and holier by making the choice to have a more positive outlook on life and seeing the goodness in the world. Know that you are not the Messiah, but one of his disciples. Therefore, let go of those things over which you have no control and give them to God. Don’t sweat the small stuff. And ultimately, everything is the small stuff. Finally, re-visit your dreams. What really gives you passion and energy? What drives you? What makes you excited? Turn your hopes into reality by inviting the resurrected Lord to make the journey with you.
This Easter make the commitment to be the person God wants you to be and truly unleash your inner Easter joy.
Welcome to all who are visiting our parish on this Easter Sunday. Please know that you can always find a home here.
On behalf of the staff and volunteers at St. Therese parish, we wish all of you a most blessed Easter season.
May the peace of the risen Christ fill your hearts with joy.
