Lenten Giving Tree

The Lenten focus is on prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. As a parish community, throughout these forty days of Lent (and hopefully beyond the season), we are encouraged to apply these actions in our daily lives.

Giving alms is a foundational Christian moral and spiritual obligation of evangelical charity. We are to act with mercy and justice.

We must see the needs of the Church: not just in our own community but internationally, as well. Our Lenten Tree Project focuses on supporting the needs of the Church in Latin America. The Catholic Church in that part of God’s creation needs us to step up and give what we can so it can continue its mission of service and love to the people of God.

The PTPA (Parish Twinning Program of the Americas) continues to organize a program to help these struggling Catholic parishes. Please take a tag from the Lenten Tree in the Gathering Space and give what you can. This is our chance to support the Universal Church. The program continues through April 1. Your donation may be dropped off in the Parish Office or during the offertory collection at Mass.
