As we conclude our Fish Tales journey through Pope Francis’ Laudato Si’, we are reminded that caring for our common home is not something we do alone. Pope Francis calls us to work together as communities of faith, recognizing that meaningful change happens when people become informed, involved, and engaged in service to others and to creation. Our faith invites us not only to pray and reflect but also to participate in building a more just, compassionate, and sustainable world.
The Felician Sisters of North America invite us to reflect and ask ourselves: What organizations or groups in my area are working on environmental issues that I might consider joining? There are many ways we can become active participants in caring for creation and supporting human dignity. We can engage political leaders by writing letters or making phone calls regarding environmental initiatives, right-to-life issues, immigration reform, and social service legislation supported by the Catholic bishops. We can also attend local meetings to better understand issues affecting our communities and discover ways to become more involved. Even joining a neighborhood or parish clean-up project can be a meaningful act of stewardship and solidarity. Through prayer, action, and community engagement, may we continue living out our call to care for God’s creation and for one another long after this series has ended.
