THE MYSTERY OF THE EUCHARIST
As Catholics, we know the Holy Eucharist is the most important part of the Mass. Many of us have had questions about its significance and how it continues to unite us with Christ. It is the most beautiful gift we have been given from the Lord. During the next few weeks, Fish Tales will take a close look at the Mystery of the Eucharist. Dr. Edward Sri, a theologian, author, and well-known Catholic speaker will help us to understand this mystery in his book, Behold the Lamb God. We will present a summary of his interesting research and findings.
John 4:8 tells us that God is Love, and He wants to remain intimately involved in our lives. He wants us to grow in relationship with Him, so He gives us his most precious gift: His Body and Blood in the Eucharist. Dr. Sri refers to it as the “source and summit of our Christian Life,” citing it from the Second Vatican Council, Lumen Gentium.
