Fish Tales: Praying With vs Praying For

We people of faith often spend time listening to the hardships of our family and friends because they know they can be open with us. Usually, the conversation ends with something like “I will pray for you” or “I will keep you in my prayers.” We assume we know the best outcome rather than asking for God’s grace to discern it in each particular situation. Let us all practice showing our trust in God’s judgment when we pray.

In addition, try praying with someone right then and there, rather than for them later. This shows a more meaningful, intimate gesture toward the person with whom you are praying. As always, remember to give thanks and adoration to God before praying with others.

“When you get what you think you want, that’s God’s direction. When you don’t get what you think you want, that’s God’s protection.”
