What are the 7 Last Words of Christ?

This Lent, we invite you to bring your whole self – your burdens, your worries, your joys and your sorrows – to the foot of the cross and meditate on the greatest homily ever given. We’ll get a glimpse into the heart of Jesus by opening our own hearts to his final seven words.

Traditionally, these seven words (which are more like “sayings” that contain more than a single word) are known as the words of Forgiveness, Salvation, Relationship, Abandonment, Distress, Triumph and Reunion.

Starting on Feb. 19th and running through Lent, a meditation will be published each week in our bulletin and on our website, as part of our Fish Tales series. Along with the article will be a link to a 2-minute audio clip on the Hallow App (or web site). The audio is narrated by Jonathan Roumie, the actor who plays Jesus in the series “The Chosen” and Jim Caviezel, the actor who portrayed Jesus in “The Passion of the Christ”.

For Hallow App subscribers, extended audio (5-, 7- and 10-minutes versions) and mediation is available, including writings from various Saints. For those who are not current subscribers, you can sign up for a free 30-day trial at https://hallow.com/.
