The God incarnated by Jesus is not a distant God. The God that Jesus presented to us is not someone sitting on a throne demanding worship. Our Jesus never said “Worship Me”, He said “Follow Me”.
We are asked to imitate Him during our journey of life. In two of the Commandments, He asked us to love God with all our heart and love your neighbor as yourself.
So how do we show our love? Many believe that attending church services is the answer. Of course, this a great first start, there is so much more.
While there is Sunday morning or Saturday evening services, there is the day to day real life experiences where we are asked to practice these Commandments. Here we are met with the challenge to create goodness in whatever we do and say. The potential and challenge of loving is right before us, always. Love is seeking the good in as many people and situations as possible. Only then, can we open our eyes to new experiences and feel the love as it is returned to us.
