“Let us do without hesitation whatever lies in our hands.” Blessed Frederick Ozanam
Thanksgiving is the time of the year we enjoy the fruits of God’s graciousness. Holiday traditions often include enjoying a homemade meal with loved ones. Each Thanksgiving holiday, St. Vincent de Paul, here at St. Therese of Lisieux, distributes a “Thanksgiving meal” in the form of a frozen turkey and gift cards to our neighbors in need. Last year, we serviced approximately 30 families for Thanksgiving. This year we anticipate a higher number of requests. With the inflation squeeze, this may be especially tough for those trying to make ends meet.
We are asking you – our parish community – for help with the following items:
- Turkeys (no larger than 15 lbs)
- Frozen turkey breast
- $25 gift card to either Meijer or Kroger
We will be distributing the items on Monday, November 25. Please bring your donations in no later than Sunday, November 24.
Also, please know that requests for pantry assistance increases during the colder months. Please keep our pantry needs in mind when shopping. We graciously accept donations all year.
May God bless all of you and may the Spirit of St. Vincent de Paul be seen in your kindness.
