Adoration is a time spent offering prayers and devotions in the Real Presence of our Lord Jesus Christ in the Eucharist, the sacred host.
This Eucharistic presence, through the transubstantiation of the bread and wine to the body and blood, is why many Catholic faithful frequent Adoration. This presence of Jesus in the Eucharist is with us at each Mass. To grow in our love for Jesus, spend an hour in perpetual adoration and celebrate your Catholic faith.
What are you supposed to do at Adoration?
You can start your visit with a greeting. Genuflect, get comfortable, and be with Jesus.
You donāt have to do anything. The Catholic faith recognizes that the greatest gift God gives us is Himself, and Adoration is another way for us to recognize that gift outside of receiving the Eucharist at Mass. Consider the suggestions below, but donāt overthink it.
- Pray
- Say the Rosary
- Write in a prayer journal
- Read
- Meditate using scripture
- Ask for forgiveness or intercede for others
- Listen to faith-based music
Make a commitment to visit our Lord in Adoration at least one time during this Lenten season.
At St. Therese, Adoration takes place every Thursday from 9 AM to 4 PM, with the first Thursday of each month featuring an extended time (until 7 PM) due to the inclusion of dinner, praise, and worship. Join us on Apr. 3 for this special extended evening.
